This course is perfect for the absolute beginner who has always wanted to make a quilt. You will explore different many different techniques whilst putting together a sampler quilt.

This course goes for a duration of 8 weeks and is scheduled for every Tuesday evening from 25th of February 5.30pm – 8pm each week.

Course Outline

Week 1 – Evening Star block x 2

Categorize, draw, rotary cut and sew the block. Homework to complete.

Week 2 – Churn Dash block x 2

Categorize, draw, rotary cut and sew the 1/2 square triangles

Week 3 – 

Grandmothers fan and Wedding ring block

Design block using template plastic, protractor and sew block together. Involves hand sewing.

Week 4- 

Jacobs ladder blocks x 2

Design block with half square triangles and bulky seams. This is a 28 piece block

Week 5 – 

Applique block

Learn English Paper Piecing, making templates and shapes, making bias and needleturn applique

Week 6 – 

Construction of quilt, Squaring up blocks, sashing and intersections.

Week 7 – 

Basting and quilting

Week 8 –

Binding and Chocolates!
